Barn Owl Released in Moscow, TN
April 2012

Center volunteers Martha Waldron and Michael Collins band an adult Barn Owl prior to release at the Wolf River Wildlife Management Area near Moscow, TN, in April of 2012. The bird was picked up unable to fly due to extreme oiling of the feathers. After many baths and cleanings, the bird made a full recovery.

Martha Waldron is a USF & WS Master Bird Bander with over 30 years of experience. She has helped band over 3,000 raptors that have been released from the Center in the past 10 years.

Dr. Michael Collins is Assistant Professor of Theoretical Biology at Rhodes College in Memphis and a frequent volunteer at the Center.
